"Sa Segada Strawberry Festival" raises €3,000 for cancer research

The "Sa Segada Strawberry Festival" offers tasty, supportive fruits. The first three thousand euros raised from the sale of the excellent products prepared by Ipsar-Ipseoa of Sassari during the agri-food event were donated recently to the " IEO-Monzino Foundation of Milan - Support for Clinical and Scientific Research at the European Institute of Oncology and the Cardiology Center."
The award ceremony took place in Sassari at the Istituto Alberghiero, a key player in the tenth edition of the festival. Symbolically handing over the cheque were Antonietta Piras , director of Ipasar-Ipseoa, Pietro Canu , and Antonio Zidda , president of the "Comitato Sa Segada-Tanca Farrà." Federico Palazzotto , representative of IEO-Monzino, spoke via video link from Milan, thanking the organizers and noting that "initiatives like this are essential to supporting research work."
In addition to the tasty strawberry-based aperitifs, the students also prepared a large charity cake. Led by Pietro Canu in collaboration with the Chefs' Association of the Province of Sassari. A Guinness-record cake, over twelve meters long, was accompanied by a second eight-meter-long cake, both gluten-free and lactose-free. The crowd responded with such enthusiasm that the event raised a record-breaking €6,000. The second check for €3,000 will be donated to the "Lega del Filo d'Oro."
