The Sant'Agostino neighborhood is back to celebrating and, above all, to building community. From August 28th to 30th, Largo Guillot will host the second edition of the neighborhood festival , this year titled "Return to the Present," organized by the Sant'Agostino Natural Shopping Center.
Three days of music, performances, tradition, activities for children and families, dance, and religious celebrations, with the aim of once again transforming one of Alghero's most populous neighborhoods into a great meeting place and social hub.
After the "Return to the Past" that characterized the 2025 edition, the CCN led by president Nichy Gesu therefore chooses to look to the present of Sant'Agostino, a neighborhood that in recent years has rediscovered new energy and a growing capacity for aggregation.
Inflatables, local craft stalls, food and drinks, and a packed schedule of events will complement the three-day festival. The festival will also feature an important religious preview. On Tuesday, August 25th, in the churchyard of the parish church of SS. Nome di Gesù, "Return to Your Heart" will take place, a moment of Eucharistic adoration that will introduce the celebrations dedicated to Saint Augustine. The program of events will kick off on Friday, August 28th at 6:00 pm with Holi Color and DJ Lady Manu, aimed primarily at children and young people. At 8:00 pm, the focus will be on the Alghero language and tradition with "Cançons en alguerés amb los minyons de l'escola," accompanied by Franco Cano, Silvia Meloni, and Antonio Garofalo. At 8:30 pm, fashion for the little ones will return with the second edition of One Fashion Day Kids, curated by Carlo Manca. From 10 pm, Largo Guillot will become a dance floor with performances by Rosaria Dalerci's Art & Movi and Mondina Di Napoli's Danzare Tre Dance schools, followed by ballroom and group dances. On Saturday, August 29th, music will dominate the scene. At 7 pm, I Poker – The 4 Aces of Italian Music will take the stage, an eight-piece band offering a journey through the repertoire of Fabrizio De André, Lucio Battisti, Lucio Dalla, and Rino Gaetano. At 9 pm, it will be the turn of "Sogno – Cantautori italiani," featuring the voices of Fabrizio Sanna and Maddalena Solinas accompanied by six musicians. From 11 pm, the dance floor will close with DJ Khikko – The King of the Disco and a special tribute to Gigi D'Agostino. The final day, Sunday, August 30th, will be dedicated to religious rites. At 6:00 PM, the procession will depart from the little church of Sant'Agostino, followed by Holy Mass in the square of the neighborhood retirement home and a social gathering.
"We're excited and ready for this new edition of the Feast of Sant'Agostino," emphasizes CCN President Nichy Gesu. "We're working really hard to offer neighborhood residents, as well as those traveling from other parts of the city, an opportunity to socialize and have fun, allowing people of all ages to fully experience the neighborhood. From children to adults, from families to anyone who decides to spend a few hours with us: we invite everyone to participate."
"Return to the Present" is organized by the CCN Sant'Agostino in collaboration with the Sant'Agostino Area Committee and the parish of SS. Nome di Gesù, with the patronage of the Municipality of Alghero, the Alghero Foundation, the Autonomous Region of Sardinia, and the Sassari Chamber of Commerce.
