Approximately 300 high school students from Cagliari attended this morning's meeting "March 8th at School, March 8th All Year Round," held in the main hall of the Cagliari Archdiocesan Seminary. The initiative, organized by the Sardinian Order of Journalists, the Sardinian Press Association, Giulia Giornaliste, ANCI, the University of Cagliari, UCSI, and the Archdiocese of Cagliari, involved several schools on an increasingly timely topic: education in affectivity, language, and respect.
"The values of International Women's Day must translate into a more equitable and egalitarian society," explained Susi Ronchi , regional coordinator of the Giulia Giornaliste association, underlining the importance of promoting "anti-discriminatory and welcoming" language among young people, as well as direct relationships mediated only by digital tools.
The Archbishop of Cagliari, Monsignor Giuseppe Baturi , also spoke on the topic of education, calling for work on respect and the ability to build healthy relationships : "Many forms of violence arise from the inability to experience love and relationships with others."
During the morning, researchers and professionals also discussed the role of language in the media and online , inviting students to reflect on the weight of words and the responsibility in using social media.
