"I'll rip your head off." "I'll make you pay for this." These are some of the threats uttered, according to charges filed by the Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office, by a 61-year-old man against his 40-year-old ex-partner .
Today in court the man, on trial for stalking, was sentenced to one year by Judge Valentina Nuvoli as requested during the hearing by the prosecutor Giovanni Porcheddu .
The charges against the defendant allege stalking that allegedly continued for a couple of months in 2023. This included hundreds of messages sent to the woman every day, with phrases such as "I love you so much I hate you, I'd kill you." On several occasions, he showed up at her home and, once, when she rejected him, allegedly headbutted his car, saying, "Did you really call the police? I'll make you pay for this."
Several times a day, he allegedly visited the bar where the 40-year-old woman spent her free time, asking about her and where she was, continually passing by and lurking nearby . The plaintiff's lawyer, Salvatore Porcu, emphasized how the man's behavior had severely impacted his client's life, causing her to experience anxiety and negatively impacting her life. The defense, represented by Stefano Porcu, argued that his client persistently sought out the woman to obtain the return of money she had allegedly stolen from him. The judge also ordered an immediately enforceable provisional payment of €1,500.
