The atmosphere had become unbearable. Constant arguments, fights, and death threats to the parents. "I'll exterminate you all," a 43-year-old man from Zerfaliu reportedly shouted on several occasions. He recently appeared in court and was sentenced to two months in prison for threats, but was acquitted of domestic abuse.
The alleged incidents occurred between October 2022 and the following March: the man, often after excessive drinking, allegedly insulted his parents on several occasions and sometimes went further, punching them in the head.
He once forcefully grabbed his mother, knocking her to the floor; he also damaged the furniture in the house, throwing objects and bottles. Three years ago in March, after yet another argument, the 43-year-old was arrested for mistreatment.
The trial concluded a few days ago: the prosecutor requested a two-year sentence, while defense attorney Fabio Costa requested an acquittal, pointing out that during the trial no further mistreatment emerged beyond that for which he had already served six months in prison. Judge Federica Colantonio ultimately sentenced the man to two months for the threats and acquitted him of the mistreatment.
