A project to build six giant wind turbines, nearly 250 meters tall, in the Ussassai area of Ogliastra has received two negative reviews.

Dozens of comments were sent to the Ministries of Environment and Culture, which ultimately nixed the project. Also of concern were the potential consequences for the area's birdlife: the project, it was noted, could interfere with bird migration and the protection of griffon vultures.
