The Supreme Court confirmed the sentences imposed on appeal for the members of the "gang of Alpha" . The Supreme Court rejected the appeals of Marco Piras , 42, Stefano Lussu , 37, and Luca Mocci of 35, all from Villacidro considered members of the "Alfa Romeo gang".

According to the prosecution, with a first degree sentence confirmed on appeal with the sentence of Piras to 4 years of imprisonment and of Lussu and Mocci to two years and 4 months, the three changed the chassis and engine numbers of the cars, replaced the plates and lights and the interiors, removed the control units and replaced the original aluminum plate of the vehicles which, stolen between 2011 and 2012, normally circulated in Villacidro and Samassi.

Piras, Lussu and Mocci had appealed after the sentence of the Cagliari Court of Appeal, issued on 29 October 2020, but the second criminal section of the Cassation rejected it, confirming the convictions on appeal and highlighting the investigative findings of the Carabinieri of the investigative unit of the Compagnia di Villacidro which, with painstaking work, stalking and technical investigations, managed to unmask the traffic of stolen and reused cars between Villacidro and Samassi.
