The heat and muggy warning rises throughout Italy. And according to forecasts, Sardinia will be, together with Sicily, the region where the hottest temperatures will be reached.

Lorenzo Tedici , meteorologist at ilMeteo.it, explains: «In Italy the African anticyclone will bring scorching temperatures, tropical nights and lots of humidity and sultriness for at least the next 10 days. The peak of this heat wave - he adds - is expected by Saturday 13 July , but also in the following days the Italian summer will push hard on the accelerator from north to south, with the greatest heat recorded in Sardinia and Sicily with peaks of 42-43 degrees".

Temperatures that are worrying, especially with regards to the fire alarm and the drought emergency , even the monitoring agencies. Among these Copernicus , linked to the European climate programme. Commenting on the latest Copernicus data, the UN confirmed that last month was the "hottest June ever documented and the 13th consecutive month in which a temperature record was set".

In view of the rise in temperatures, the advice for dealing with heat and sultriness issued by the Ministry of Health is inevitable, namely: avoid exposing yourself to high temperatures from 11am to 6pm, do not frequent particularly busy areas, bathe often with fresh water, ensure adequate air exchange with natural ventilation, use the air conditioner correctly.

Finally, the ministry itself suggests not leaving non-self-sufficient people, children and the elderly, even if for a short time, in cars parked in the sun.
