According to the prosecution, the two defendants , defended by lawyers Davide Manca and Franco Villa, had favored and encouraged the then sixteen year old to give herself to other men, wealthy and older than her, to satisfy the sexual fantasies of mother and son - at the time she had 19 years - in exchange for money .

On some occasions the girl would also have been paid for her services with telephone top-ups. A thesis rejected by the defense whose arguments eventually convinced the judges.

"The many doubts of this affair - the lawyer Villa, defender of the man, said in his speech - do not allow a sentence to be issued beyond any reasonable doubt".

"The processes of induction into prostitution are quite different - the woman's lawyer, Davide Manca clarified - and I hope that being a mother and dating your son's girlfriend can never be considered a crime ".
