Last month he celebrated his platinum wedding anniversary with his wife Antonina Murgia, today Quintino Sanna has reached the enviable milestone of 100 years of life.

Surrounded by the affection of his family, the centenarian was visited by parish priest Don Stefano Macis, Mayor Angelo Dessì, Deputy Mayor Bianca Meloni, and Councilor for Public Works Umberto Russo, who presented the celebrant with a commemorative plaque on behalf of all the citizens. Quintino Sanna's life was full, spent working in the countryside and on the Villa d'Orri estates of the Marquises of Villahermosa: his skill as a pruner was renowned throughout the area, which he reached on his bicycle.

With the family gathered in Quintino and Antonina's living room, Mayor Angelo Dessì emphasized that reaching a triple-digit age is only possible if you're surrounded by the affection of loved ones: "It's always emotional to celebrate someone's 100th birthday, because it brings with it a series of memories that have stood the test of time. Being with Quintino on this day is a precious gift: seeing his loved ones gathered as he blows on the cake shows how, in life, he has sown well."
