The quiet of Via della Pace, near the new Quartucciu cemetery, has been shattered by nights of excess: deafening music, shouting, car crashes, fights and even flying bottles. The residents, terrified and exasperated, denounce the indifference of the police and the Municipality, announcing a new petition to request greater controls in the area.

The cemetery square has become an open-air disco, with groups who, until the early hours of the morning, disturb sleep with shouts and fights. Even calls to the police received less than reassuring responses, with patrols absent during emergency situations. «For a few days now, after 11pm, a group of foreigners have been arriving and playing music at high volume. On Saturday they stayed until 3 in the morning, preventing us from sleeping amidst inhuman screams. There was also a fight between two women who put their hands on each other", denounce the residents who, for fear of repercussions, request anonymity. «I got scared and called the police, but in a somewhat piqued way I was told that there were no patrols available. I pointed out that there was a fight going on, but no one intervened. I'm calm, I've done my duty: what if something more serious had happened?", says DL, but his was not the only report.

«On Sunday night then another group thought it best to take via della Pace up to the roundabout with via Don Minzoni like a racing track: at high speed there were continuous spins, back and forth for over almost an hour, with braking which made us think of the worst", explains SS, "I called the police, they asked me if I had taken the license plate number, but from afar in the dark it was impossible. They told me they would send a patrol, but no one arrived, except the group of foreigners who, with loud music, enjoyed doing their business in front of everyone and on the cemetery wall."

Worried and tired of being ignored, residents also remember quad bike racing and cemetery intrusions by young people seeking adventure. Now they are waiting for concrete interventions and greater vigilance to restore safety and tranquility in their area, hoping that the mayor's promises of decisive action will finally be reflected in the facts, otherwise they say they are ready to mobilize with the prefect to protect their safety.
