A financial maneuver of 130 million euros, without tax increases and no cuts in municipal services . And a novelty for those who choose Quartu as a tourist destination: the tourist tax that will be paid for five months of the year - from March to October - with a forecast of revenue of 200 thousand euros.

"Resources that we will invest entirely in the tourism sector", announced Mayor Graziano Milia after the approval in the Council of the 2025 budget forecast which - in addition to the funds for Social Services available from the beginning of the year - provides more resources for Civil Protection, and in fact anticipates new hiring in the Municipality.

The only negative data is the cut in funding by the State: 415 thousand euros less in the budget. "A significant figure that will not lead to an increase in taxes for the Quartesi", reassures the mayor. "The work carried out by the municipal administration regarding energy efficiency, in fact, will allow for a saving of 300 thousand euros by 2025, thus covering a good part of the 'hole' imposed from above".

With the yes to the budget, the Council is playing ahead of the curve on hiring: 10 in total by the end of December, and 100 percent turnover covered by December 30. Not only that: with 235 thousand euros, the Civil Protection services will be strengthened, 140 thousand euros are instead destined to the outsourcing of amnesty practices. And then there are the resources for Social Services: 250 thousand euros invested in social inclusion projects - entirely funded from the beginning of 2025 - almost 100 thousand euros are reserved for housing policies - to support families who lose their homes - while 140 thousand euros of the budget are used to support interventions for the homeless.

"We have put together a maneuver that also takes into account the discussions that were held in the City Council, and the proposals that came from both the majority and the minority", Milia emphasizes. "To this work is also added the continuation of the interventions to the Pnrr, to the large projects, from Fornaci Picci, to Distillerie Capra, up to the sports centers. We are moving towards the end of the council by fulfilling all the commitments made at the beginning: we said that we were committed to changing the city and I think I can say that we are succeeding".
