Serious workplace safety violations have cost a pastry shop and café in the center of Quartu dearly.

Following a targeted inspection, Carabinieri officers from the Cagliari Labor Inspectorate ordered the immediate suspension of operations and remanded the owner, a 53-year-old man and sole director of the company, to custody.

The military's intervention brought to light a long series of violations: the absence of a risk assessment document, a lack of staff training, and further breaches in the management of employment relationships.

A situation deemed particularly serious, to the point of requiring the immediate adoption of the measures required by law.

In addition to the ban on operations, administrative sanctions and criminal fines totaling more than €8,000 were imposed.
