The debut was a success . The fourth edition of Summer is back opened yesterday with a record crowd of visitors and artisans from all over the surrounding area on the first Friday, which transformed Viale Colombo into an open-air gallery: 30 exhibitors enlivened the street with their creations, and countless visitors—citizens, curious onlookers, and families—visited the stands and enjoyed the initiative's services.
The commercial response, organizers say, was also excellent: businesses along the street stayed open until late at night, with restaurants fully booked for the entire evening. "These events benefit our network," comments Luca Stocchino, president of the La Via del Mare natural shopping center. "Commerce needs situations and moments like these. And tourists, when they come to Quartu, need to find a vibrant, welcoming city, with a busy street that speaks for itself through its businesses. This is exactly what happened on Friday."
A success beyond expectations, which prompted the organization to double the number of places available for each time slot—from 20 to 40—bringing the service capacity to approximately 120 children per evening. "Not just a festive evening," adds Stocchino, "but a networking project that brings together merchants, restaurateurs, artisans, associations, and families, with one goal: to transform Viale Colombo into a lively place, for Quartu residents and those visiting from out of town."
The event is already scheduled for next weekend, starting on Friday, August 7th, and continuing on August 21st and 28th and September 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th.
