In early August, Abbanoa announced that technicians had "temporarily limited the leakage and scheduled the repairs after mid-August." To date, however, this has not yet happened : "It will be carried out," the company explained, "when consumption decreases and we can intervene, ensuring supply to users with supplies from tanks located along the coast and in the towns served." That is, after the peak tourist season.
The leak affects the pipeline that feeds the South-Eastern aqueduct from the Simbirizzi water treatment plant, which serves the entire coastal stretch from Margine Rosso to Villasimius. " Abbanoa has been notified several times, but to date they haven't intervened. In the meantime, the water is flooding everything , including the road leading to my house," reports a resident.
