An argument that broke out this morning in Flumini di Quartu was about to end with a hammer, due to a bus that stopped a few meters from the stop: the worst was averted by the intervention of three off-duty carabinieri.

The serious episode occurred around 5 am, not far from a bar on Via Leonardo da Vinci. A 52-year-old Senegalese man flew into a rage when, after booking a CTM bus stop, he saw that the driver blocked the vehicle a few meters after the stall.

Insults flew and a 39-year-old passenger defended the man behind the wheel. The situation degenerated on the ground: the two, after getting off, continued to argue heatedly. The Senegalese pulled out a hammer, threatening his opponent with death.

The scene happened under the eyes of the carabinieri: during the day they work in the temporary summer station of Flumini, at that moment they were at the bar. Intervention was immediate to separate the two contenders: the Senegalese was blocked and disarmed. When the patrol arrived, he was arrested on charges of attempted murder and threats: he is now in prison in Uta.
