After days of complaints and requests regarding the payment of the regional social inclusion income—which is paid to nearly 600 Quartesi residents in financial difficulty—the Municipality has allocated the resources and is assisting the many beneficiaries while they await the arrival of the regional funds.
The payments - the Municipality assures - will be made in the next few days, and will cover the subsidy not received from July to October.
"There are many beneficiaries in Quartu, and it's understandable that this prolonged wait has become unbearable," explains Social Services Councilor Marco Camboni. "The administration has therefore decided to take concrete action and advance the funds, which will then be reintroduced into the municipal coffers following the payment from the Region. This totals nearly €1 million, or €872,000 to be precise, which will cover the four outstanding monthly payments. Therefore, all beneficiaries will receive their benefits in the coming days," Camboni assures.
