A traffic accident occurred this morning in Quartu Sant'Elena , at one of the city's busiest intersections. According to initial reports, a 57-year-old woman was struck by a CTM vehicle while crossing the street at the intersection of Via Brigata Sassari and Via Cagliari .
The crash occurred near a traffic light, where the green light for pedestrians and vehicles changes simultaneously. The Carabinieri and 118 emergency personnel responded immediately to the scene and transported the woman to the Santissima Trinità hospital in Cagliari with a yellow code .
The accident caused severe traffic delays and tailbacks throughout the area. It's the same spot where, a few weeks earlier, an elderly man was hit by a car while crossing the street, sustaining serious injuries.
