The young man allegedly attempted to escape officers after speeding past a patrol car. He was pursued to Provincial Road 17, where he was stopped after several dangerous maneuvers. According to the Carabinieri's reconstruction, the young man was driving a BMW 320d with a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit and was carrying a metal pipe approximately 50 centimeters long. The incident occurred yesterday along Lungomare del Golfo. The 21-year-old allegedly overtook a Carabinieri vehicle from the temporary Flumini di Quartu station. The officers then ordered him to stop and began a pursuit with sirens and flashing lights, but the driver, instead of stopping, allegedly accelerated further.

During his escape, he allegedly overtook several times on the double continuous lane and made other risky maneuvers, endangering other drivers. The pursuit continued to Provincial Road 17, where the young man was caught by the arrival of a second patrol car from the Quartu Sant'Elena station. The 21-year-old then attempted to hide in the local streets but was apprehended.

The breathalyzer test revealed that the 21-year-old not only tested positive, but also had a blood alcohol content (BAC) exceeding twice the legal limit. During the subsequent search of the car, a metal pipe approximately half a meter long was also found, placed between the seat and the front door. The object was seized. The 21-year-old was charged with resisting a public officer, possession of offensive objects, driving under the influence, and failure to comply with a stop sign. He was also charged with several traffic violations, including failure to have his vehicle inspected and speeding.
