More than a quick vacation in the south of the island, these were four nightmare days. "The bed and breakfast manager threatened to kick us out because our son is autistic," say Valeria and Massimiliano, a Roman couple who chose a vacation home in Geremeas to spend a few days by the sea. "There was no discrimination against the child; I was the victim of threats from the lady, a very unpleasant episode that I hope never happens again," says the B&B host.

The adventure—unpleasant for everyone—began on July 31st with the family's arrival at the accommodation on the Quartu coast, rented on Airbnb. The couple, their husband, their 10-year-old son, their mother-in-law, and their housekeeper were in tow. The story made national news—in the Corriere della Sera—and was confirmed by the two protagonists over the phone, offering two versions of their experiences.
