Quartu, fire in Pitz'e Serra: flames rising high near houses, parked cars, and a church.

It was a nightmare afternoon for the residents of Pitz'e Serra, who live near the church of San Giovanni Evangelista: a violent fire—fanned by the wind—devastated the dry brushwood near several homes on Via Danimarca.

High flames and unbreathable air, until the arrival of the firefighters who put out the fire and prevented damage to the homes.

Civil Protection and local police were also on site, along with the NOS association and the Forestry Corps for cleanup. This isn't the first time in the Quartu area: a few weeks ago, the same incident occurred just a few meters away, and in that case, too, the fire had started in dry brushwood near the houses.
