Carabinieri officers intervened overnight along Lungomare del Golfo in Quartu, where a patrol car carrying out traffic control reported two Cagliari residents found in possession of various types of drugs and a large amount of cash.

The officers stopped the two, aged 42 and 48, respectively, and already known to the police, for routine traffic checks. However, the wary behavior of the occupants of the car prompted the Carabinieri to investigate further, and the subsequent personal and vehicle searches yielded approximately 9 grams of hashish, over 3 grams of marijuana, and enough cocaine for several doses . In addition to the drugs, the officers found and seized €1,550 in cash, believed to be the likely proceeds of the illegal activity. After reconstructing the incident, the two passengers were subsequently charged at liberty with the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Cagliari.

The Carabinieri operation comes shortly after the reopening of the military garrison in Flumini di Quartu, which was also visited today by the Provincial Commander of the Carabinieri of Cagliari, Brigadier General Luigi Grasso.
