Carabinieri conducted extensive checks on the Quartu seafront overnight. During inspections of public establishments along the coast, officers fined a restaurant manager a total of €2,000. The establishment was found to be in breach of hygiene and sanitation regulations related to waste management and failure to implement HACCP self-monitoring procedures.
During traffic checks, three drivers were reported. Specifically, a forty-six-year-old man from Quartu Sant'Elena and a twenty-four-year-old man from Santa Giusta were caught driving under the influence of alcohol. Both had their driving licenses revoked, while the former's vehicle was seized for confiscation. A thirty-year-old man from Sinnai was reported for refusing to submit to a breathalyzer test while driving a car . His license was also revoked.
Two people were reported for illegal possession of weapons or objects capable of causing harm: a man from Quartese was found in possession of a twenty-centimeter-long "Pattadese" switchblade knife, and a young man from Settimo San Pietro was caught with a sixteen-centimeter switchblade knife. Both cutting weapons were seized.
Checks to ensure compliance with precautionary measures led to the filing of charges for escape against three men: a seventy-nine-year-old from Monserrato, a forty-three-year-old from Quartu Sant'Elena, and a forty-five-year-old from Sinnai. All men were already known to the police, but were not located at their homes during checks to ensure compliance with the detention regimes to which they were subjected.
In the fight against drug use, seven people between the ages of 19 and 51 were reported to the Cagliari Prefecture for possession of small quantities of hashish and cocaine . Overall, fifty-one vehicles and sixty-eight people were checked during the entire operation.
Carabinieri from the Maracalagonis station also located and arrested a local twenty-one-year-old unemployed man , already known to the police, pursuant to an order for house arrest with an electronic bracelet issued by the Court of Cagliari for stalking. After completing the formal procedures, the young man was taken to his home and placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
