Another eight hundred meters of bike paths, pedestrian paths, and a seafront urban park. A new step in the €3 million redevelopment of the Poetto Quartese area is ready to begin: today, the Municipality and the contractor will hand over the works along the seafront, where construction on the last sections, already underway, is in the final stages.

"The restyling will be finished next summer," says Public Works Councilor Antonio Conti, reassuring beach operators that the disruption experienced in recent months will be resolved. The stretch of beachfront near the military facilities, which has already been funded, will also be missing.

New work will begin in the coming days. The fourth lot covers a nearly 800-meter stretch, from the Ex Bussola roundabout to the Guardia di Finanza building, and features the same design scheme already implemented for the other sections: a new pedestrian promenade will be created, alongside a strip of greenery with Mediterranean plants and new trees, as well as dedicated lanes for bicycles and runners. A second shaded area will be provided by the new plants, while the existing parking facilities will remain unchanged, according to the Municipality.

Construction will be carried out during the winter months—with completion scheduled for the end of March—to avoid disrupting the upcoming tourist and beach season. "A discussion has also been initiated with kiosk operators to identify the most suitable solutions to minimize disruption during construction," Public Works explained.
