Quartu, man crashes car and throws himself into sea: rescued

An accident occurred this morning on the Quartu coast, where a car went off the road and crashed into a pole at the La Marinella roundabout.

The driver, after exiting the crumpled vehicle, ran towards the sea in a state of confusion and dived in : he was then rescued 100 metres from the shore by the Carabinieri of the underwater unit.

The man, suffering from hypothermia, was then transported to the Santissima Trinità hospital .

The local police were also on site.
