Quarrel over a woman ends in billhooks, sentenced 57-year-old from Austis
Vittorio Fadda was accused of attempted murder for the attack on fellow villager Paolo PisanoThe quarrel had resulted in billhook blows. And today at the Court of Oristano the trial for attempted murder ended with a sentence of 7 years and 8 months for Vittorio Fadda, 57 years old from Austis.
The story was reconstructed in the Chamber by prosecutor Sara Ghiani who, at the end of her indictment, asked for a sentence of 7 years and 8 months.
According to what was reconstructed during the investigations and later emerged during the hearing, on the evening of 8 October 2022 Fadda had spent the evening in the company of some friends including Paolo Pisano, 68 years old. Then they would go to the home of a 90-year-old fellow villager who was hosting a foreign woman in those days. And it is precisely here that the dispute over jealousy would have occurred: Fadda would have accused Pisano of having an affair with the woman. At that point the 68-year-old would have gone out on the street, while Fadda chased him hitting him on the head with a billhook.
Today the last stages of the process, the consultants were heard and then the discussion. The civil party with the lawyer Enrico Meloni joined the requests of the prosecutor, while the defense with the lawyer Giovanni Paolo Meloni tried to dismantle the thesis of the attempted murder.
In the end, the college (President Carla Altieri) accepted the prosecution's request.
