The project for the works on the stretch of state road 125 between Tertenia and San Priamo can restart. The green light has arrived from the Regional Council for the five-year extension for the resolution of non-subjection to the Environmental Impact Assessment, on the proposal of the Environment Councilor Rosanna Laconi. The Councilor for Public Works and person delegated by the extraordinary commissioner for the completion of the roads of the regional road network, Antonio Piu, has obtained from the Ministry of the Environment to identify the competent authority for the EIA in the regional Environment Department on the new Orientale Sarda, Tertenia-San Priamo section.
"With this step," Piu explains, "they can resume activities for the conclusion of the administrative procedures and think concretely about the execution times of the works. In November, the meeting at Mase was crucial to transfer the responsibilities from the Ministry to the Department of the Environment which, with the approval of the Council, today extended for another 5 years the resolution dated 2015 and expired in 2020. In these last 5 years nothing has been done by the previous extraordinary commissioner, but today after having asserted the commissioner's powers at the Ministry and with the speed of the work at the Department of the Environment, in just three months we have obtained a result that has been awaited for 5 years ."
In 2017, with the amendment introduced by art. 22 of law 104, the type of work passed to the Ministry of the Environment, transferring the competence on environmental authorization procedures, which in 2019 had required further environmental assessments and when in 2020 the provision of non-subjection to the EIA expired, the work remained at a standstill until today . The approval by the Council of the resolution of non-subjection to the environmental impact assessment for the new Orientale sarda allows Anas to proceed with the administrative authorization activities, the approval of the project and the subsequent start of the works by the winning company .
"We are very satisfied," comments Environment Councilor Rosanna Laconi, "to have been able to give a further boost, as far as my Department is concerned, to unblock a work that is necessary for the municipalities involved as well as for the entire road system of that stretch."
