The traditional procession of the Martyrs of Turritani, the heart of the Festha Manna in Porto Torres, will undergo a change in celebration, scheduled for May 3rd. Following the Holy Mass, which will be held at 6:00 PM in the Basilica of San Gavino, the wooden statues of Saints Gavino, Proto, and Gianuario will be accompanied to the Piazzale dei Caduti della Corazzata Roma. Due to the unavailability of the small church of San Gavino a Mare, they will be displayed for the faithful until their return to the Romanesque church.

Renovation and safety work underway in the Balai Vicino hypogeum prevents the statues of the Turritani Martyrs from being placed there. They will be transferred on the day of Pentecost and returned to the basilica, a journey of faith involving hundreds of faithful. Thanks to the generosity of Monsignor Salvatore Masia, parish priest of the thousand-year-old church of San Gavino, the religious rite will be observed along a route starting from the Atrio Metropoli, crossing Via Sassari and Via Balai. Therefore, the local police command has ordered a temporary suspension of traffic on the streets along the procession route, from the basilica to the Piazza dei Caduti della Corazzata Roma.
