Hospital doctors called the police last October after discovering a twelve-year-old patient was pregnant. The girl's account was confusing, but she eventually reported a mysterious sexual assault on her way home.

The investigation began immediately, and when the little girl miscarried , the Prosecutor's Office ordered a DNA test on the fetus.

The turning point came yesterday morning: officers from the Cagliari Police Headquarters' Flying Squad arrested the girl's father. He was allegedly the one who raped his daughter.

The events occurred in a town in the Cagliari area.
