The day of Pratobello24 has arrived. Today, at 10:30 a.m., the proponents and committees are expected to give their hearings before the joint session of the Fourth and Fifth Committees (chaired by Roberto Li Gioi of the Five Star Movement and Antonio Solinas of the Democratic Party, responsible for industry). It will now be necessary to determine, also in light of the events that will shape Sardinian politics in the short term and the internal balance of power within the majority governing the island, how to address the emergency of the onslaught of renewables. Given that the Democratic Party, through Antonio Solinas, president of the Fifth Committee, has consistently maintained that a full adoption of Pratobello24 is unlikely , it could, however, form the basis of a new, fail-safe bill that the Regional Council is preparing.
The hearing
In defense of the proposed popular initiative bill, which has gathered 211,000 signatures, Orgosolo Mayor Pasquale Mereu, nine committees (specifically those of Nuoro, Orgosolo, Gallura, and Sarcidano) , and another association considered equivalent to committees, the Permanent Presidium of the Sardinian People, will speak. Three other groups that have requested to speak will speak in the afternoon.
The motion
Meanwhile, yesterday, the Cagliari City Council failed to discuss the Pratobello 2026 motion, presented by Marcello Corrias (Mixed Group), which will be discussed as the first item on next Tuesday's agenda, and which Mayor Massimo Zedda is also said to support. The motion has now been approved by the Metropolitan City of Cagliari. Along with Roberto Mura, Cagliari City Councilor, Gianluca Dessì, Mayor of Villasimius, and Raffaele Onnis, Metropolitan Councilor, have signed the Pratobello 2026 Plan.
