The resources are there, the projects have been authorised, but the works are still at the start . And athletes are the first to suffer the hardships.

The interventions on the athletics track in via delle Vigne , in Porto Torres , have not yet started and for over a month the structure has not been accessible to sports clubs due to the redevelopment project aimed at guaranteeing the technical and functional suitability of the structure.

An approval of the track that forced a variant and a supplementary survey to the plan, to better meet the requirements imposed by the Italian Athletics Federation, improving the work and track capable of hosting international meetings and competitions in the future. But the situation for athletes is critical .

«We are forced to travel and move to other structures in the neighboring municipalities that are not always available - the athletes complain - some train between Ploaghe and Sassari, transfers of about 50 kilometers a day, and still others adapt by running in road circuits, not always easy". The inconveniences are also considerable because sometimes there is no space in the Stadio dei Pini in Sassari, due to the number of sports clubs that access it. "The work is proceeding slowly, - the athletes underline - they have even extended the deadline for the interventions to November 30 , but I doubt that this is possible".

To homologate the track, the municipal administration has made 250,000 euros available.
