A "bridging contract" to cover the urban sanitation service from May until the launch and award of the new tender for waste collection. In Porto Torres, the emergency on the sanitation service is creating many difficulties for the city's dignity.

On March 31, the contract for the collection of urban waste expired and, considering the difficulties presented by the Ambiente2.0 Consortium, which currently takes care of the service, the mayor Massimo Mulas issued an order not to interrupt the activity, and to give time the offices to entrust it to a new company through the formula of the "bridge contract", a provisional agreement until the final award. The new provision issued by the first citizen extends the assignment of the service to the Ambiente2.0 Consortium until April 30th.

The ordinance obliges the current company in charge, through its consortium member Pianeta Ambiente, "due to the conditions of exceptional and urgent need to protect public health and the environment" to continue to provide, without interruption, to the performance of the activity sweeping, collection, transport, disposal of urban and similar waste and complementary services. In the council chamber the discussion of the interpellation of the sardist Alessandro Pantaleo who pointed out all the criticalities of the collection service, also underlined by the councilor Ico Bruzzi who focused on environmental hygiene issues.
