Violent impact between two cars at the intersection of via Volta and via Pascoli, in Porto Torres. Two women ended up in the emergency room of the Santissima Annunziata in Sassari . This is the outcome of the accident, which occurred around 1:30 p.m., when a Ford Fiesta, driven by a 47-year-old woman, emerged from via Volta to enter via Pascoli where, at that moment, a Citroen C3 driven by a 22-year-old girl was passing by and proceeding in the direction of via Balai.

The collision, probably due to a failure to give way, was inevitable: pieces of bodywork ended up on the asphalt. The fuel tank of the Citroen was also damaged and spilled onto the roadway. Both drivers, after initial treatment by health workers, were transported by ambulance to the Sassari civil hospital and subjected to tests .

Local police officers intervened on site to carry out surveys and reconstruct the exact dynamics, in addition to dealing with traffic regulation in an intersection that records a high number of accidents. Firefighters were also present to ensure safety. The municipal police requested the intervention of the company specialized in environmental safety to restore the road following the diesel leak and to remove the mechanical parts of the cars.
