The sentence established for the 44-year-old man from Porto Torres, accused of the crimes of mistreatment against family members and cohabitants and possession of weapons, is one year and six months .

The sentence was issued this morning by Judge Silvia Masala, at the Court of Sassari.

The worker had been arrested in Porto Torres by the company's carabinieri on December 18, 2024 , after eight years of difficult cohabitation with his partner . The previous night, the man had railed against his ex under the windows of her house, shouting "I'll make you end up like Giulia Cecchettin" , and then threats and insults to the woman and her family. Then the request for intervention by the police. The soldiers who arrived on the scene had found a switchblade with an 11-centimeter blade on him.

During the trial it emerged that the woman had suffered mistreatment, physical and psychological violence, jealous scenes and threats over the years, including that of burning the family car.

The defense attorney, Marco Salaris, had asked to downgrade the crime to aggravated threats with a reduced sentence and recognition of mitigating circumstances.
