Burglary and break-in during the night in six commercial establishments in the city of Porto Torres .
The target was the flower shop Fiorajo on Viale Delle Vigne, where the thieves violently broke through the window and opened the cash register, leaving only a small amount of change inside. The same attack occurred a little further away at the Artemisia bar . The thieves—at least two people are believed to have been involved—attempted to force entry into the Funerarte funeral home on Via Sassari, encountering resistance through the reinforced door. Not satisfied with that, they also targeted the stationery shop, also on Via Sassari, the Spagò restaurant, and the Arizona clothing store on Via Mare , opposite the commercial port, where the window was shattered in an attempt to steal the proceeds. These targeted thefts were accomplished with skill, likely using a hammer.
Carabinieri from the Porto Torres branch were on site, having been busy since early dawn carrying out investigations. Investigators are also examining CCTV footage , which could be a valuable aid in identifying those responsible.
There's a lot of anger among shopkeepers who have been victims of theft and damage: they're demanding more controls and security, especially at night, when some take advantage of the darkness to commit acts of vandalism.
