The structural criticalities found on the Vespucci bridge , during the execution of the works started to restructure the public work, which leads to the production area of Porto Torres, led to the need to introduce some changes to the original project and to carry out further unforeseen work originally .

The overall extraordinary maintenance intervention aimed at improving the road network and the infrastructure that represents the link for the road network towards the industrial area, the port and the city center of Porto Torres, amounts to 300 thousand euros .

From an in-depth examination of the state of conservation of the concrete covers of the prefabricated beams of the bridge, a principle of corrosion was found on the more superficial parts, an aspect that makes it necessary to intervene promptly to prevent more serious deterioration. Furthermore, as noted by the construction manager, Pietro Paolo Mossone, the need for a major overhaul of the rainwater system was noted, which is the cause of flooding of the road and alterations of the pillars due to running water. Thirdly, the need to proceed with the replacement of the parapets on the downstream sidewalk has emerged, as they are severely compromised by corrosion and no longer able to perform their containment function for the safety of passers-by.
