The restoration work has stopped as well as the decoration works. Weeds suffocate the Roman bridge, the prestigious monument in Porto Torres , one of the most important in Sardinia due to its state of conservation.

Difficult to be able to admire it in its beauty, the grass has grown between the interstices, between the flagstones and pebbles that make up the pavement. The tourists, Italians and foreigners who, in recent days, have gone to visit the seven-arched work, have been disappointed. On the sides of the walkway bushes of vegetation sprout, a total lack of maintenance, a neglect as happens to the most beautiful and precious things.

In this case we are talking about a monument, one of the symbols of the city, an inestimable wealth, around which revolve many talks about welcoming tourists, words in the wind about the conservation of an archaeological heritage that must be preserved like a precious jewel. In recent months, the restoration and consolidation works of the structure entrusted to the regional secretariat of the Mibact have been suspended, construction sites which will resume in October, following the award of the contract to the Neapolitan company Archeo & Restauri, which will have to deal with the works on the bridge Romano, a suggestive work on the Rio Mannu. The company was awarded the tender which envisaged a total amount of 2 million and 39 thousand euros.

On that area there are enhancement projects linked to the Pit Fluviale, the hydraulic defense intervention from the river floods, but it is above all one of the areas of possible economic development of the city.
