"The awarding of the works for the former Porto Torres Cruise Terminal by February". This was assured by deputy Salvatore Deidda, the exponent of Fratelli d'Italia and president of the Transport Commission in the Chamber, who intervened to reassure the mayor of Porto Torres, Massimo Mulas, on the will to continue the works and complete the unfinished project for 15 years that stands in the port area, considered one of the oldest infrastructure works.
"We have made the commitment and we are carrying it forward, amidst a thousand bureaucratic difficulties, to start the works in the former Lunardi tensile structure and Port Terminal of Porto Torres - explains Deidda - and I would like to reassure the mayor and the community that the Public Works Department, at the beginning of January, with the tender commission appointed by provisional decree, meeting in public session, proceeded to open the offers, concluding the activities and therefore identifying, following the drafting of the relative ranking, the first classified in favor of which the award will be proposed. The stipulation should take place by February".
And he adds: "It is useful and helpful to keep alive the interest, of the Municipality, of the parliamentarians in the press, on a work that in all these past years has been abandoned to its fate. Having found these funds to begin the work, we need to find more to enhance it and give it a future and with my colleague Barbara Polo, and with whoever wants to give us a hand, we will insist on working on it".
The Democratic MP Silvio Lai had presented a parliamentary question on the case. The Minister of Public Works, Matteo Salvini, had guaranteed the completion of the work.
