Tags torn from the niches of the new cemetery of Ponte Pizzinnu. In the municipal structure of Porto Torres the “pranks” have affected about thirty tombs, where the labels of the funeral agencies are applied on the slabs, in recent days mysteriously disappeared from the graves.
Aside from the thefts of flowers and other objects, indignation is spreading across the web, because regardless of whether or not the municipal regulation on cemetery services is being observed, the act can be classified as vandalism.
"It's a shame, though, because no one has the right to remove a plaque from the tombstone of a loved one without any authorization," complain the users of the cemetery, located on the outskirts of the city.
For many it represents a lack of respect, an insult to the deceased and to the relatives who, going to the cemetery, could not help but notice a small chip in place of the label. The sign on the tombstone is evident, but above all many observe that that small mark, once detached, is made to disappear.
No trace on the ground or anywhere else. "A clear sign - they add - that these are not bored kids, this time, but adults who, evidently, are pursuing other goals."
