Cars are banned from the Porto Torres city center, according to a measure adopted by the City Council and signed by the Local Police Command, upon the recommendation of Councilor Cristina Angela Capuana, who temporarily established two pedestrian areas in the stretch between Via Amsicora and Via Josto, and on Corso Vittorio Emanuele between Via Ponte Romano and Via Mare.

The administration welcomed the request made by downtown shopkeepers, particularly those operating in Piazza Umberto I, Piazza della Consolata, and Piazza XX Settembre, who requested road closures during the months of July, August, and September.

The decision was made by the executive branch in line with the municipal administration's policy guidelines. Vehicle traffic was restricted along the affected road sections, with a traffic ban in place to ensure public safety and security.

Specifically, the pedestrian area of Via Amsicora between Via Josto and Corso Vittorio Emanuele, and the section between Via Amsicora and Via Ponte Romano, will be closed every day during the three summer months, from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM the following day. The section between Via Ponte Romano and Via Mare will be closed from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM the following day from July to September, and from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM the following day from Thursday to Sunday in September.
