In a classroom with limited educational assistance, despite being affected by a non-reversible genetic disease associated with ADHD, attention deficit disorder. The new school year began like this for an 8-year-old girl who attends the fourth grade of a primary school in Porto Torres.

In the front line is the mother who reports the bitter return of her daughter to school. "Unlike other years, she was assigned only four hours of education instead of ten, with a cut of six hours ." So she tried to find a solution by contacting the head of the cooperative that guarantees the service, and then the Social Services of the Municipality of Porto Torres and the vice-principal of the comprehensive school.

"The child neuropsychiatrist had asked, as shown in the report, for the maximum number of hours of classroom assistance ," the woman explains, "and until last year my daughter had ten hours of education per week. This year there were cuts by the Region and the child was left without six hours."

The reduction in service has also affected other children who suffer from the same disorder. "Another absurd explanation that was given to me is that," he continues, "by ensuring a greater number of hours for my other daughter who suffers from ADHD, they could consequently only guarantee me four hours for her sister, who also suffers from a genetic disease, therefore a much more serious pathological situation."

The woman is asking for a balanced allocation of education among the children involved, following the distribution of the hours of assistance available. In recent days she also turned to the Councilor for Social Services, Simona Fois. "From the budget we have advanced 519 thousand euros that cover mostly the costs of activating the regional service that amount to 700 thousand euros - she explains - resources that we have invested while waiting for the funds to arrive from the Region, from the Plus and from the Ministry, transfers necessary to cover the entire need that increases from year to year".

In the meantime, the mother has decided to continue the fight, asking for a meeting with Mayor Massimo Mulas. "In the meantime, I refused to sign the Pei, the Individual Educational Program, which provides only 4 hours of educational assistance and until I find a solution to this problem, I will continue my fight to have my daughter's rights recognized."
