Burn another vehicle used for the work. Last night, around 11pm, in the Villaggio Satellite neighborhood of Porto Torres, a gardener's van caught fire. The fire is presumably arson.

The owner, Fabrizo Derudas, 50 years old, did everything he could to try to save the equipment kept inside, but in just a few moments the flames had devoured the vehicle, parked right under his home, in Via Sardegna. The brush cutter, the blower and a chainsaw were reduced to ashes. Extensive damage. A petrol can inside the pickup truck helped the flames spread.

«I was asleep when I was alarmed by a neighbor, a passerby with a dog on a leash noticed the sparks that started the fire», says Derudas, «I ran into the street but I wasn't able to put out the fire. By now the flames were high, I armed myself with a hose to throw water and cool the car parked nearby, I wanted to prevent the fire from damaging other cars". People poured into the street. The smoke reached the homes of the building. Residents provided support until firefighters from the local detachment immediately arrived. In the condominium, unrest has taken over, particularly among the elderly.

«I am sure that it is a malicious act - said Derudas - another time I suffered intimidation which did not succeed. This time someone wanted to hit me hard. For this reason - he adds - there is a need to unite the forces of this district to remove people who intend to do harm. We must be a family and intervene unitedly, reporting suspicious situations that harm us residents of the neighborhood." The carabinieri of the Porto Torres company are also on site and will have to shed light on what happened.
