They are ready to support territorial reconnaissance with the use of "eyes in the sky," tools capable of simplifying the work of the Civil Protection of the Italian Rescue Corps-Order of Malta, in the various operational situations in which volunteers are called upon to intervene. The new national drone team was formed in Porto Torres, nine operators among the first pilots certified in the country with CISOM, equipped with EASA-ENAC licenses, and with the certifications and training necessary to deal with emergencies. From Gian Paolo Delogu, national coordinator of CISOM for Asinara, to Marcello Melca, a soldier with the Porto Torres Port Authority, as well as Gianluca Utzeri, captain of the "SaraD" ferry to and from the island of Asinara, Gianluigi Rassu, a sergeant of the Porto Torres Carabinieri, Pierpaolo Bertolinis, a municipal employee, and Salvatore Masia, Franco Masala, and Andrea Campus, retired members of CISOM volunteers, a team of people ready to serve the community in critical situations and emergencies. They are simply waiting for a flying field, to be identified by order of the Porto Torres Municipal Authority, to operate drones in the area, equipped with modern cameras and positioning systems, capable of carrying out surveys to support ground operators from the local police and others. The first experiment was put into practice during the days of the Rio Mannu flooding, last February, when fields and roads were flooded and the intervention of drones was necessary to monitor the territory and the levels of the river itself.
