A bar in the center of Silanus has been forced to close for a fortnight. The order, signed by Nuoro Police Chief Fortunato Marazzita, was notified today by the police and Carabinieri for serious reasons of public order and safety.

The decision was based on the serious incidents that occurred on Christmas Eve in Piazza dei Mille.

On that occasion, a team from the Macomer public safety station and a Carabinieri patrol, who had intervened to report a citizen for some violations related to the lighting and exploding of firecrackers, suddenly found themselves surrounded by numerous people.

The group, which also included people with their faces covered and from the premises subsequently targeted by the measure, assumed a threatening attitude towards the police.

Not only that, but a barrage of firecrackers and rockets was also launched, one of which hit and damaged a police car.

The suspension of the license also comes after the investigations and checks carried out last weekend by the police.

During the investigations, explosive materials and narcotics were found and seized, with several reports being filed against the holders.
