The Plastic Free volunteer association has organized the first environmental cleanup event in Cargeghe, giving new life to one of the places submerged by plastic and waste of all kinds. In the site located near the church of Santa Maria, the volunteers have collected a considerable amount of garbage, estimated at at least 500-600 kilos and including a large amount of glass and plastic bottles, household waste and remains of household appliances.

Bulky and piles of garbage in a green area that has become an indiscriminate deposit of all sorts of materials . Objects and plastic bottles abandoned among the trees, hidden among the vegetation, an environmental degradation that undermines one of the delicate areas of the territory, where for a long time no cleaning and care operations have been carried out.

Despite the great efforts of the volunteers, there is still a significant amount of waste in the area, which will require a new intervention, already being planned in the coming days .
