A deep dive into the wonders of the ninth art, with a special focus on its female interpretation: after the preview last June 5th – with guests Antonio Lucchi, Massimo Dall'Oglio and Luca Usai – the third edition of " Tesori a Fumetti. Storie che lascia il segno" (Comic Book Treasures. Stories that Leave a Mark ) is now underway in Pimentel . The international comics festival, organized by the Municipality in collaboration with the Assonanze association, invites the public to the Casa Piras premises until September 26th for meetings with authors, illustrators and screenwriters, two masterclasses , a concert and more.
The theme chosen for this new edition is " Challenges ," which is interpreted on the event's poster by Sassari-born cartoonist Lucchi himself, in a sci-fi reworking of the Greek myth of Sisyphus . But beware, because the cover is no longer the strong son of Aeolus, but a woman who, making her way through the monsters and miasmas of the swamp, carries on her shoulders a net overflowing with comic book speech bubbles. An original metaphor for the obstacles that life throws at one's goals, further strengthened by the choice to place the authors and heroines of the ninth art at the center , also exploring the guests' creative processes and, as emphasized by artistic director Daniele Mocci , involving visitors in an initiative built precisely around the theme of challenges on each day of the festival.
The program
All the days scheduled at the space in Via Margherita will remain free to enter , with each evening opening with the monologues of " Il mio tesoro a fumetti ", in which authors are invited to present some of the titles that have marked their personal and professional career: this year the regular guest is the screenwriter Stefano Piani , whose speeches will be enriched by a tournament-game on the comics presented in the company of the public.
We start today at 6 pm , with Piani illustrating the Franco-Belgian " Battuta di caccia ", by Pierre Christin and the master Enki Bilal, and the new editorial " Antipodi ", by the acclaimed David B. with Eric Lambé. Followed by Stefano Ascari , who, together with Andrea Pau, presents the book " Macbeth. Una storia di orrori ", and Gianni Bono with the novel " Donne Fuori ", co-written with Raffaele Mangano and discussed together with Davide Barzi .
Opening the day on Sunday 20th (at 5:30 pm ) is Piani again, with the collection of the cruel misadventures of " Tutto Zanardi ", by the legendary Andrea Pazienza, and another recent release with " Traditori di tutti ", the work of Paolo Bacilieri and Giorgio Scerbanenco. Then there is Bruno Olivieri with the new " Petrov ", in conversation with Alessandro Cauli , followed in turn by Jean Claudio Vinci and Daniele Nicastro for the duo work " GEO Bros. Uniti si vince " in the "Author presents Author" column, ending with the famous Fabio Celoni who, alongside his colleague and bookseller Emiliano Longobardi , brings to the festival the titles " Scrooge in Atlantide ", " Superman. Inferno ", " Totò. L'erire di Don Chisciotte " and " Dylan Dog. Angeli e demoni ".
The following weekend begins, with Friday the 25th , again starting at 5:30 pm , with Piani presenting his female-themed "comic book treasure", " Fun Home " by well-known queer artist Alison Bechdel, as well as the new edition of " Rebecca ", a work by Renato Queirolo and Anna Brandoli. Then it's Chiaralascura's (aka Chiara Meloni's) turn, who, in conversation with Pau, presents her " Queeranta. Better late than never ", before passing the microphone back to Piani for the volume " A history of the Frassanduon basilica ", with Pau still in the role of coordinator, and finally to guest Sara Colaone with her latest production " The window of your eyes. The art of women in comics" , presented to the public together with Roberta Balestrucci . This third day closes with a concert by Claudia Aru , at 9:30 pm .
Starting at 6pm , the final date on Saturday 26th sees Piani's monologue one last time, with the historic Argentine comic " Alack Sinner (Vol. 1). The Age of Innocence ", by Carlos Sampayo and José Muñoz, and the re-edition of his fellow countryman masterpiece " The Eternauta ", by HG Oesterheld and Francisco Solano Lopez. He is then succeeded by Adriano Barone , who in conversation with Cauli presents the Bonelli works " Mr. Evidence (Vol. 7). All the pain in the world " and " Nathan Never-Justice League. Double universe ", and Stefano Fantelli and Marcello Mangiantini , with the stories by Carlo Lucarelli " Zagor. The secrets of Endless " and " Julian ", in the company of Longobardi. The festival closes with a special show cooking with final tasting , inspired by the most beloved comics and curated by Pimentel chef Patrizio Perra : to participate in this last occasion, reservations are required.
