The new Piazzetta Sergio Ramelli was inaugurated this morning in Cagliari.

The mayor Paolo Truzzu, the councilor for mobility policies Alessio Mereu and the city councilor Salvatore Sirigu participated in the naming ceremony of a space in the city after Sergio Ramelli.

The new Piazzetta, which is located in the Piazza Repubblica area between Via Alghero and Via Deledda, was dedicated to the memory of Ramelli "victim of political violence", as can be read on the plaque in the center of the square , on the proposal of councilor Sirigu .

Sergio Ramelli, a 19-year-old Milanese student and militant of the Youth Front, was attacked in Milan in 1975 with a wrench by a group of militants from the extra-parliamentary left linked to the Workers' Avant-garde. He died on April 29, after a month and a half of agony. Those responsible were identified ten years later.
