A person has been identified, and is now under investigation, for the events that occurred on the night of July 15th inside the Emergency Room of the Olbia hospital.

The alleged crime is disruption of a public service. A 35-year-old man from Olbia is accused of using pepper spray in the emergency room waiting room.

The investigation is being conducted by the Carabinieri of the Olbia Territorial Unit, who were the first to respond to the hospital after patients' cries for help and a report from the local health authority.

The alleged disruption of public service is based on a circumstance reported to the Tempio prosecutors by the Carabinieri. The person reported allegedly sprayed pepper spray at another individual with whom he had argued outside the hospital . The substance spread "widely" throughout the waiting room, affecting dozens of people.

To protect the victims from the effects of the pepper spray still present in the air, the doctors decided to move all the waiting patients to the triage area, an (inevitable) choice that led to the suspension and delays of the delicate activities of the Emergency Room of the John Paul II Hospital.
