There were signs of madness in the emergency room at the Giovanni Paolo II hospital in Olbia. One of the people waiting in the waiting room, for reasons yet to be determined, sprayed pepper spray. Several patients were hit by the pepper spray and began screaming, heading toward the triage room.

Some of those exposed to the irritant spray immediately experienced vomiting, persistent coughing, and difficulty breathing. Emergency room staff intervened to help patients in the most serious cases, even providing masks.

Carabinieri from the Olbia territorial unit responded immediately to the scene. Within minutes, officers identified the man, a thirty-year-old, who allegedly sprayed another individual with whom he had likely argued before entering the emergency room. However, this reconstruction is still being verified.

It is certain that between 5 and 10 people were affected by the pepper spray, and some of them may have already filed a complaint against the alleged perpetrator, who, for now, remains unexplained.
