Paedophilia at the Franciscan college in Oristano: A friar was sentenced by the Ecclesiastical Court.

Found responsible for the sexual abuse of a minor, committed against Marco Contini, now Father Paolo and parish priest of the Christian community of Abbasanta, Ghilarza and Norbello, while he was at the convent of the friars of San Francesco in Oristano.

For this reason, the priest of the diocese of Tempio-Ampurias, Don Valerio Manca (known as Father Emanuele, the friar), then director of the college, was dismissed from the clerical state: he is no longer a priest.

This is the verdict issued yesterday by the interdiocesan ecclesiastical tribunal of Cagliari, meeting at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome.

The scandal was brought to light by Father Paolo himself, who had publicly denounced the abuse he had suffered in his youth.
